Army of Squirrels. This started out being a tile that was all about Crescent Moon for a FB challenge. But, when I was looking around my studio for ideas of what to do with CM, I found Aloha drawn on something. My squirrels decided that I should add that to the tile. After that, I figured all was lost… with the squirrels being in charge and just went with the flow.

Disruption. Every time the energy returned, it disrupted the planetary patterns. She knew it was time to travel again, to take the ship out. But the energy patterns just didn’t allow for it then. She would study the patterns… perhaps there was a way. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Caution. The stinging pods were almost hidden against the background design. Only their vibrating movement gave them away when she looked carefully. She was so glad that she noticed them before they paralyzed her! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Pastel pencil highlights. This is the final, official tile for the Tints on Tan, beach series. These tiles, combining colored pencil and tangling have been so much fun to do. Technically, these would be considered ZIAs (Zentangle Inspired Art) rather than standard Zentangles. However, if you like this type of thing, they can be just as “zen” and relaxing to do. I particularly like the subject matter because the ocean reminds of of summer and vacations, happy times and warm weather.

Giving thanks. I have so many things to be thankful for this year, it would make a very long post to list them all. So I am going to tell you that I am grateful for my wonderful husband, beautiful daughters, and fabulous grandchildren. I am thankful for my good health and good life. I also am very thankful that I discovered Eni Oken. She is a fabulous artist that shares herself, her talent and her knowledge with others.

We looked up at the ceiling and saw the fan, its blades moving slowly across the light. Blinking, bright, dim, bright, dim, it left us hypnotized on a lazy summer afternoon. Angles. Apparently, I‘m being drawn to angles and straight lines as opposed to curves. It‘s interesting that I tend to fill those angles with softer, rounder patterns fairly often! ‘Tis the Season. I think it‘s not a party without a cake! This was from a random draw of tangles, but it worked out nicely! Zentangle drawing done with Micron pen on Strathmore Vellum Bristol. Tangles: Antidots Droplets Flux M‘spire Pendrills Sharalarelli
