I haven’t posted a Zentangle from Amanda Higbee, CZT in a long time. The camera on her phone has been broken and other life things have interfered. But I have one for your pleasure today! I love the way she used strips of Ambler to draw the eye into the center of the tile. I also got a big kick out of the list of tangles on the back of her tile.
Watchers. As she walked through the marketplace, she admired all of the woven and embroidered trims on the awnings. Then, she noticed the Borbs, looking down at her above the spice vendor. It was such and alien reminder. This was not her home, not her planet. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Turquoise. If you ask Google to show you images of turquoise stones, you‘re going to see a very wide range of colors and a large range of markings. This is because these stones are found all over the world, and each location has it‘s own special characteristics. This stone has long been used for protection against traumatic injuries. It was thought that the stone would shatter, thus warning the wearer of imminent physical danger.
Plenty. That‘s how many tangles there are in this image. First of all, there‘s my favorite Inapod. I just love this tangle because it‘s easy to draw, kinda funky, and looks dramatic. Then all the rest of the tangles really shouldn‘t work together here, but they kind of do, and the shading lifts and individualizes each section.
