If you recall, a while back I posted a couple of Bijou tiles with Muchin shaded in different ways. I thought that it would be fun to post the same thing, but this time, showing the shading and highlighting on a black tile! Difference. These two little Bijou tiles both have the same tangle, Munchin. The first tile, in the upper left, was done by scattering dots on the tile and then drawing the tangle in the traditional way. I added shading at the convergence of the lines for each small triangle. For the second tile, I started in the center of the tile with one triangle. Then, I added each new triangle, growing off of the existing ones.

For my final Crazy Huggins sampler, I cut a large, apprentice-sized tile from a new paper I got recently. I filled the tile with Crazy Huggins shapes, then filled each element with another tangle. Somewhere along the line, the design developed a mind of its own, and decided not to be symmetrical anymore. But, honestly, I think that just made it “interesting!” This tile took quite a while to complete.

Message. She was sure there was something important hidden there. Perhaps a clue to the treasure. She searched the bowl of flowers, the cobwebs in the corners, the lattice- and the lace… Somehow she totally missed it. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Growth. At the center of it all, there has been a seed planted. And now the growth begins. The living towers still stood, although the lace dress and pearls were sold long ago. But the new growth was hope, renewed. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil.
