Art Journal: Micro Perfect Bound Book

The micro, case bound book I showed you yesterday was a great book, but I didn’t like that it was a bit bigger than my tiny book shelf.

I decided to make another, smaller book, this time with simpler, perfect binding. For the cover, I used a Gelli Plate print that I created with acrylic paint a while back. The print wasn’t great because the focal point got lost. But it is lovely paper for a book cover.

The pages for the book were made the same way as the previous book. They were accordion folded and then glued together to make an almost seamless spread when opened. I used the paper from a Aquabee, Super Deluxe Sketch book from the Bee Paper Company again.

As you can see, it is a little under a centimeter smaller than the maroon book.

This micro art journal fits much better on my shelf. I think I will continue with this size. It’s a nice size with good proportions, but opens up to a nice size spread. I think I’ve found the right book for me!
