Cargo. The hold was full. There were so many interesting, unique things she was bringing back from all the planetary markets. Her favorite, though was the star-egg. They told her when it hatched, a new universe would be born! It would be such an exciting thing to see. She was planning on putting on an exhibition and charging people to view it. Some times, the craziest combination of tangles comes out of the tangle jar.
Invasion. What were they? These small, twisting larve must portend the hatching of something new, something different. Renaissance. I really enjoy tangling on the Renaissance Tan tiles. Just as with the grey-toned tiles, it is possible to achieve a wide range of values. And then, with the addition of brown and sepia ink you can just go even further developing the design! The final piece can look antique, native american, or fresh and modern. Divided. The string used for this tile had multiple spaces that allowed for quite a few tangles. I tried to place the random patterns in an interesting way. Echoes. I think the multiple echoes that tie up this tile are the tangle and the circular repetitions. The shapes of the Marasu and the Cogwheel echo each other. Putting the Fescu on either side of the center creates balance. Finally having the top and bottom Pinwheels echo provide a nice contrast to the more organic designs. Sometimes I think of arranging tangles on the tile kind of like flower arranging. I didn‘t really draw a string on the tile for this, instead, I had the concept of mixing the Thanksgiving and B‘Dylan together in a bouquet.
