Selected tangles, no string. Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time to gather with friends and family and share a meal together, watch the football game, and celebrate the season. This tile is my artistic, visual celebration of the season. It could be a table centerpiece, or a large arrangement near the front door to welcome everyone and invite them in. Toodles is the base of the arrangement, gathered in a group, just like all the people gathered around the table. Thanksgiving, a tangle by Kelley Kelly, is the fern-like shapes that rise above the group of leaves. And the Poke-Root is the friends that come to share the day with us.

Experimental. This paper is from the same package as the tan I used for yesterday‘s drawing. I like the color, but it turned out to be rather difficult to tangle on. I ended up using metallic and glitter gel pens. Unfortunately, they don‘t show up well on the image here, but it really does look a bit better in person. Zentangle drawn on cocolate cardstock using metallic Pentel Slicci gel pens, Kaiser metallic and glitter gel pens, and Zig Wink of Stella glitter pens. Highlights and shadows done with colored pencil.
Sometimes I think of arranging tangles on the tile kind of like flower arranging. I didn‘t really draw a string on the tile for this, instead, I had the concept of mixing the Thanksgiving and B‘Dylan together in a bouquet. But then I had to do something with the other random tangles, so this is the end result. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum using a black Micron pen.
Happy Thanksgiving from me to you! One of the things I love to do is use tangles to illustrate a message. This time, I‘ve used food themed patterns, and one that is actually named for the holiday!
