This is my own design, done in the Tints on Tan style. I wanted to finish out the week of beach-themed tiles with something original! After looking at pictures of sea horses, I realized their bodies are basically made up of a bumpy grid. Once I got that, the rest was easy! I didn’t add any wave foam or sand dots because this one is actually meant to be under water.
Shield. She hid behind the shield and allowed the expression of art to speak her truth. I found the shield shaped string to be an interesting challenge. I tried to arrange the random tangles so that they complemented the shape, making it the focal point. Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Inner ocean. Another one by the sea! This tile makes me think of viewing under the deep ocean on a microscopic basis. From single-celled creatures to tiny plants and even prismatic organic elements, they all seem to float towards a net that was cast from a vessel above. Plenty. That‘s how many tangles there are in this image. First of all, there‘s my favorite Inapod. I just love this tangle because it‘s easy to draw, kinda funky, and looks dramatic. Then all the rest of the tangles really shouldn‘t work together here, but they kind of do, and the shading lifts and individualizes each section.
