Another underpinning! Again, this is a text example, but this time, the text was added to a gessoed page using rubber stamps and various colors of Archival ink. When the stamped images dried, I went over them with a heat gun, just to make sure they were set. Then a light coat of gesso was applied. This knocks back anything that is too strong, and insures that the next layer will not cause the ink to bleed.
I am busy creating my own “designer tissue”. It’s really simple and easy. I am stamping on deli paper! This is a great project when your time is limited, or your having an artistic down day. Use Archival ink, and any stamps that you think will look good torn or cut out and applied to your artwork. I generally stick to text and texture and neutral colors. But sometimes I have a plan in mind, and then use specific images and brighter inks.
I want to take this time to thank everyone who’s followed my art journey over the years. It has, over time, taken various twists and turns (and even a few hard lefts and reversals.) I love looking back over what I’ve accomplished and somewhat stunned: I did THAT? But throughout it all, there are some of you who’ve been there on almost every step… encouraging, suggesting, helping and enabling.
