Random tangles, reclaimed tile. This tile had curving line, including the spiral at the top already drawn on it when I pulled it out yesterday morning. I don’t ditch tiles that I don’t like. I put them into the stack of matching colored tiles to work on some other time. I couldn’t think of what to do with it, so I started pulling tangles at random. Mythograph was about the third one. Perfect! I decided to run with it, adding the spiral to the ends of all the branches.
Inktober Tangles - Day 13 - Mythograph by Zentangle Mythograph is a tangle that builds from the center out, line by line. It generally looks more like a pine tree, or a strange fern. You can see a more traditional version on the tile here . My Inktober version is meant to celebrate fall, when the leaves change color and drop from the trees. It still follows the same path as the standard version, I just put the new fronds out as branches.
Random tangles. No string. This is the first time that I’ve tried using the grey pens for tangling. I don’t like the little dark “dots” that are left behind when you end a stroke. This is done on Strathmore Bristol paper, so I will reserve judgement until I try these pens on a Zentangle tile. But if they do the same thing on those, I may not be using them very much!
I don’t often work on Zendala tiles. For some reason, they seem kind of intimidating to me. I do have many blank tiles in my stash that are just sitting there, being ignored. I am also interested in trying my hand at more botanical tangles and trying things that I haven’t done before. This tile is a result of all of this! As I was doing it, at times I thought it wasn’t going to work, and liking various parts, and thinking I would just put it away and not finish it.
