Crystalline. The crystal structure at the center of the lab was stable, yet it would grow over time to take up more of the space. What would happen when it filled all of it? It was needed to keep the environment stable on the planet. Would the foliage survive? If the plants grew larger, could they control the crystals? Inner ocean. Another one by the sea! This tile makes me think of viewing under the deep ocean on a microscopic basis. From single-celled creatures to tiny plants and even prismatic organic elements, they all seem to float towards a net that was cast from a vessel above. Relaxation. When I hold out this tile and squint at it, I get the feeling of a daybed, or the corner of a couch in an atrium. It feels like I could snuggle against the pillows with a good book or a sketch pad! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Bamboo! This tile includes the first tangle I designed: Bamboo. While it‘s not an “official” tangle, it‘s still one of my favorites. It works as a filler or a border. You could even use it as a tangelation with Hollibaugh! Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Bristol Vellum using a black Micron pen. Quantity. This string had a lot of individual “spaces” in it to fill with tangles. Since I selecting tangle patterns randomly, sometimes a busy tile works, and sometimes it doesn‘t. I think, for the most part, this one works. Zentangle drawing done with Micron pen on Strathmore Vellum Bristol . Tangles: Chicken Wire Chillon Gloven Hurry Knight‘s Cross Narwal Nzeppel Quabog Snail
Rhodochrosite. I have always been fascinated with beautiful stones. But it never occurred to me to draw them until recently. Now, I‘ve become obsessed with them, so I plan on challenging myself to draw and color more of them in the future!
