Art Journal: Micro Retro Folders

Yesterday, I showed you the Micro Retro Traveler's Notebook that I am creating for journaling.

Today, I wanted to show you the folders that I made to go with it. I happen to like pocket folders. They give me places to put store receipts, stickers, washi tape dashboards (I also like those washi dashboards), business cards and other such pieces of paper and journaling things that I need to keep track of.

I normally make one wrap-around for each book, so that’s what I did here.

I started by creating a template, step by step out of white card stock. This allows me to then use it to create all the folders so they come out the same.

The folders extend above and below the book inserts.

And they are slightly wider. This way they also serve to protect the booklets.

All of this was created from one 6" x 6" paper pad that I got at Hobby Lobby. It was not terribly expensive, and I got it when all the scrapbook pads were on sale. So the over-all cost of making the book was affordable. And there are two sets of all the papers, so theoretically, I could make a second set.

I will, eventually, show you how I use the pages for journaling and keeping track of mundane things like my schedule!

But first, now that I have all the templates made, I think I’ll make a couple more of these for December and January!

Enjoy,

Tandika*
