Every so often, I get a wild idea to try something… and it ends up taking much longer, or being more complicated than I thought it would be. This layout is one of those.

I probably should have drawn the Zonked larger. But I wanted the scale to be small so that the mummy and bats wouldn’t get totally lost in the design.

However, I don’t think I’ll be drawing this tangle again for a while!

Background drawn with a Sakura, Pigma Micron pen. Then watercolor was washed over the page. The mummy was stamped on black paper and then die cut along with a few bats. After these piece were glued to the layout, more bats were stamped with grey and black ink. Finally, colored pencil was added to give depth to the mummy. White gel pen was used to create highlights on the black paper bats.
