Inktober Tangles - Day 22 - Shattuck by Zentangle
I love Shattuck! It can be drawn “curved” or “straight” as you can see in these examples . There are many examples because I’ve used it quite a bit over the years! I think that the curved version is the most common.
You can also create decorative version by adding perfs, dots or orbs to lined areas and I sure you can think of even more ways to put your own spin on this tangle.
Above, you can see a stylized frame that contains Shattuck as a part of the design. Then, in the center, I used a few Mooka as the structure to hold up the curved Shattuck.
I also added some gold accents to the frame area. For this style of frame, I think they increase the interest and complexity of the design.
This is one of my “Mac-n-Cheese” tangles… tangles that I turn to all the time when I don’t have something else planned, or have an area that needs something to fill it.
Zentangle drawn on a standard, white Zentangle tile using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Highlights created with white chalk pencil.
