Chosen tangles, no string.
This tile is influenced by the Nightmare Before Christmas.
Last month, I did the InktoberTangles challenge. That didn’t give me the opportunity to create a fun, Halloween-style tile. So, I decided to do it now.
I love creepy-cute and Halloween. I’ve created art journals on this theme, and I’ve done a few tiles in the past, which you can see here . If you look through the Zentangle Gallery on this site, you can probably find more that fit this theme.
I am also a huge fan of Sandra Bartholomew . Her bold, fun style is so imaginative and fun, just what you might expect from a cartoonist! Over the years I’ve purchased all of her books and her tangle step-out cards. Btl Joos is her tangle.
Over the years, I’ve collected other tangles that I feel go with her style from Jody Genovese (Tunnel Vizion), Chris Letourneau (Squirmy), Elena Hadzijaneva (Hypnotic) and Rita Nikolajeva (Borbz). I also like to use Fracas for spider webs and Gourdgeous, both from Zentangle.
I had so much fun drawing this tile, it just flowed so quickly and I love the way it came out!
Zentangle drawn on Strathmore Vellum Bristol using a black, Micron pen. Shading done with graphite pencil. Highlights created with white chalk pencil.
